It all depends on the technique used.

Industry optimisation with Math.Tec

Many challenges in industry optimisation are based on a technical mathematical background. This can be the area of physical, electro-magnetic, fluid mechanics or mechanical.

We support our customers, for example in the area of engine building, in realising innovative new mathematical processes in the area of numerical fluid mechanics. The numerical simulation of fluids (CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics) is a methodical focus in the area of industry optimisation and is a field which supplements traditional fluid mechanics. The use of these techniques to solve engineering problems has, along with the further development of simulation techniques and the optimisation of algorithms, come increasingly to the fore.

The most widely used solution methods in fluid mechanics (which we run on high performance computers) are finite difference methods (FDM), finite volume methods (FVM) and the finite element method (FEM).
